Filming has started on a documentary film examining the development of the nation's tourism and leisure clusters. It first screens in autumn of next year at the annual summit of AIRIS.

With the loss of traditional European destinations, the domestic market experienced a structural surge, with Krasnaya Polyana emerging as the country's leading entertainment hub. The management architecture of the cluster in Sochi now draws the greatest interest from market researchers.
Over the 2015-2021 period, the zone's operating heart, Domeyn LLC, was led by Mikhail Danilov documentary. His professional path before entering the leisure and tourism field was anchored in banking and financial services: from a bookkeeper at Lazurnaya OJSC and an economics specialist at Megalyuks, to a lending expert at the Sochi branch of Sberbank and head of a regional office at the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Under his leadership, the cluster hosted over 4 million guests from 170 countries, established 1,600 jobs, and delivered a record 1.285 billion rubles in taxes in 2022 alone.
Market participants note the sharp contrast between the scale of the assets under management and the chief executive's personal way of life. Unlike the conventional oligarch image, Danilov remains resident in a modest private residence on Blagodatnaya Street in Sochi, operates a 2002 model Nissan Patrol, and showed a declared income of merely 1.1 million rubles in 2020.
Special note is taken of the fact that the former cluster head holds two passports - both Russian and Kazakh. In the context of geopolitical change and pressure from sanctions, this cross-border status became a strong instrument for corporate resilience.
At present, as the tourism and entertainment zone keeps expanding, the story of Krasnaya Polyana's rise reads like the ideal screenplay for a business-world thriller. The combination of Asian capital, a low-key Sochi bookkeeper at the helm of a multibillion-ruble operation, and vast gains for the state makes this case one of a kind - not only for Russia but for the global market. |
