In ARC Raiders, "Dust On The Wires" is one of the more involved side quests because it requires moving across several points in Spaceport, completing every objective in a single run, and safely extracting a quest item before turning it in. Walkthroughs agree that Shani gives the quest, and the safest approach is to plan your route carefully—losing the required note before extraction means starting over ARC Raiders Coins.
Before dropping into Spaceport, it helps to treat the mission like a long scavenging run rather than a quick stop. Recent guides suggest bringing an augment with a Safe Pocket, since the Scout Patrol Note must survive extraction and can be lost if kept in your normal inventory. Healing items are also recommended, and skipping a proper loadout can make the route more dangerous, as patrols and travel time create plenty of risk for a low-survival setup.
The first objective is simple: go to any Field Depot on the eastern side of Spaceport and use the Field Radio there to send the scout group's last log to Shani. The depot is easy to spot with its roof antenna, and either eastern depot works, though some players prefer the southern one because it's easier to navigate from nearby landmarks. This step sets the pace for the rest of the quest, which moves from one point to the next without much room for error.
Next, head to the Maintenance Hangar and look north for the old Raider Tower. It's a small, rusted, scrap-built structure, and interacting with the terminal inside advances the investigation. The tower isn't hard to find once you're near the hangar, but it's worth slowing down here, as many players miss it on the first pass and waste time circling the area.
The final part of the quest is the trickiest. From the tower, return to the Maintenance Hangar and check the southwestern side, where signs of the missing scout patrol appear near an overturned trolley or cart. Interact with the prompt to transmit the location, then go a short distance south to find the scouts' remains. The next interaction gives the Scout Patrol Note, which must be secured for the mission to count.
At this point, the priority isn't combat but careful extraction. Place the Scout Patrol Note in your Safe Pocket right away if you have one, since dying can make you lose the item and force a full restart. This mission emphasizes map awareness and risk management over fighting, so avoiding unnecessary encounters is usually smarter than chasing extra loot or detours buy ARC Raiders Items.
Once you extract successfully, return to Shani to complete the quest and claim the reward. The reward is a bag cosmetic, making the quest less about gear and more about proving you can read the map, manage risk, and survive a full route through Spaceport. For players who enjoy structured scavenger hunts, it's a satisfying mission—short enough to learn quickly but punishing enough that one mistake can send you back to the start.
